Bad ideas are the fertilizer for the big one. Ideas done? by Michel Beaudet, Têtes à Claques, Canada

Michel Beaudet, Creator of Têtes à Claques, Salambo Productions Inc., Longueuil/Montreal, Quebec/Canada, answered to the question in French: “What percentage of ideas do you actually carry out?”.

His percentage is around 10%. As a conceptor you have ideas every day. Though, sometimes an idea is out of purpose.

But when he really wants to do something the percentage is much higher: 50%. Especially when working in advertising because he is quite lazy and he does not like to loose his time.

But never forget that the bad ideas are the fertilizer for the big idea. That’s why it’s very important to have many many ideas and not to censore yourself. If you have just one single idea and you believe that it is the great idea, then you must be very lucky to see your idea being implemented.

Therefore, don’t be afraid to think.

Interview made at Montreux Comedy Forum, December 3, 2010.
