All means of damaging, erasing, corroding, destroying, hiding, altering, littering and other negative processes are used in art to create and make something new and surprising. Surfaces, materials, objects and even persons – during performances – are treated in many “corrosive” ways. The used means are e.g. chemicals, tools like the hammer, paint, dirt, machines, laser, guns and even concepts are used to damage a value, another concept like hiding the maker’s persona or to dissolve “identity”.  Of course you use them to do good like a laser for cleaning dirty sculptures of cathedrals, at least most of the time. The principle could be summarized like this:

  1. Making by damaging something, no matter how valuable the thing is

How things are done in art can be an useful principle for creating new products or services in many business fields. Check out the CSID showroom  Medamothi, too. It is an open space for all types of visualizations. From business facts and charts to analytical art. Because there is more to visualization than just PowerPoint.
